Marathon Man - Charity Appeal
Hi all
On October the 18th 2010 I shall be running the Abingdon Marathon in Oxfordshire which in parts travels along beautiful stretches of the River Thames. The perfect spot for a load of heavily sweating out of shape hopefuls gasping for oxygen and praying for the pain to stop.
Ever up for a challenge I shall be running the marathon with a group of runners in slightly better than average condition including, two guys from the Paratroop Regiment, one Royal marine, a Royal Engineer and other assorted current or ex-servicemen. Men who fill their days with intense physical exercise regimes, steely grit and determination. Whereas mine is largely spent sat behind a piano or grazing on cruise ship midnight buffets.
However we are aiming to raise money for a great cause the Royal British Legion, a British based charity that raises funds for ex-servicemen and their families. Coming from a military family this is a cause particularly close to my heart. I did for a while consider a life in the military before following a more musical route but as my writing partner has pointed out “what is the music industry’s loss is the military’s gain” (?!?).It is a great cause and we would be most grateful for any support or contributions which can be made by clicking the button below.
Many thanks,
Brett
